A year ago this week, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Discovering that I have an incurable disease that attacks my central nervous system has been a lot to swallow, but this past year has brought growth and has given me a new perspective on life. I work from home primarily as a freelance graphic designer, which gives me more time to focus on taking care of my health and my diet and be available for my kids. I am grateful to have a neurologist and medical team at Penn to support me and my Ocrevus infusion therapy that is helping me manage my MS symptoms.
Although I still have fears about my health and my future, especially with Covid and my weakened immune system, I am choosing today to stay positive and worry only about the things that I can control and take on life one day at a time. Thank you to all of you who have prayed for me, texted me, or sent me a card of encouragement in this past year. I am truly blessed!
